League
of Legends has over 100 champions and when just starting out it can be
rather confusing on what champions are good to buy and fun to play.
Champions that are good for beginners are champions that farm well and
provide a lot of crowd control and disables that really help the team,
or a lot of damage to kill enemies quickly.
Galio
Galio
is a great champ because his mass amounts of area of effect abilities
and taunt ultimate allow him to farm well and do loads of damage. It is
very easy to farm with Galio and he has a sort of natural tankiness that
allows him to soak up a decent amount of damage. Durability is great
for beginners because no one likes dying and having to walk back to
lane. No fun!
Why Galio is good:
- Durability and tank capabilities
- Ability to farm from a distance and farm well
- Area of Effect taunt ultimate
- High damage
Ryze
Allow
Ryze may have some trouble getting last hits which are very important
he has virtually no skill shots. If you are having trouble hitting the
enemy with hard to hit skill shots Ryze may be a great champion for you.
It is relatively easy to build quite tanky with Ryze and still have the
ability to do massive amounts of damage. Also Ryze has great sustain.
His ult is great for clearing minion waves and gaining health through
the spell vamp bonus.
Why Ryze is good:
- High damage and lack of skill shots
- Ability to sustain in lane with ultimate
- Tanky build option
Side note: If
you are having trouble getting last hits with Ryze you should think
about getting a champion that is easier to farm with. While missing
couple last hits might not seem like a huge problem, it can negate you
from having a lot of gold late game. More gold equals more power in
League and the more gold you get is the more items and damage you will
do.
Fiddlesticks
Fiddlesticks
is a really good champ and his drain allows him to stay in lane for a
long time and win trades relatively easily. He does however have some
trouble farming and is hard to get last hits with. I recommend fiddle
only because of his great sustain and ability to stain in lane for long
periods of time without dying.
Fiddle Top Attributes:
- Very high sustain with drain
- Ability to stay in lane safely for long periods of time
- High crowd control with fear
- High damage area of effect ultimate
Side note: If you die a lot in League of Legends look at getting or playing fiddle for the ability to sustain in lane.
Warwick
Warwick
is a great champion with a lot of damage and lots of sustain. Although
he is somewhat difficult to farm with he is durable and hard to kill.
He also is great at picking up kills and chasing people down. You will
feel like a complete beast with Warwick as you chase people down and
finish them off with a hungering strike.
Warwick Top Attributes:
- High chasing capabilities
- Healing from hungering strike and auto attacks
- Durability in lane
- Ability to Jungle
Yorick
As
for as sustaining champions go Yorick is one of the best. His has the
ability to harass very well in lane as well as heal up most of the
damage he takes. He is a real menace to play against and that is
because he is so strong in lane. Yorick is really fun and really
strong.

- Durability in team fights
- Good Ultimate
